Hayman Fire Burn Area - Teller County

Description: The Hayman fire in the summer of 2002, caused by arson, covered nearly 138,000 acres (210 square miles). The burn perimeter extended into the northwestern portion of Teller County, creating ideal habitat for Three-toed Woodpecker, which has been found here on numerous occasions.
