Crystal River Valley - Pitkin County
Ownership: None Listed
Description: This is another long narrow valley which parallels the Crystal River for about 23 miles. You can again see most of the mountain species at the many pullouts along the road. Look for dipper, Song Sparrow, Townsend's Solitaire, Wilson's, MacGillivray's and Orange-crowned Warblers and Fox Sparrow.

Habitat: Foothill Shrub, Lowland Riparian, Spruce-Fir Forest, Aspen Grove
Directions: Head down-valley (west) from Aspen on Highway 82 about 30 miles, to the intersection with CO 133, then turn left (south) on 133 and proceed through Carbondale. After leaving Carbondale the river valley parallels the river and you may stop at any of the pullouts. Some of the pullouts may be on the right side of the road but you can cross the highway to look over the river.
